Dear friends, family, and supporters of all kinds—
I cannot thank you enough for the time, energy, donations, prayers, and encouragement you all have have shared with me throughout this campaign journey. Even though my opponent came out on top, I’m still so proud to say that we ended this journey with over 13,000 more votes than we started with. To say that I learned a lot from this election would be an understatement; in truth, I may never be able to fully quantify the depth of knowledge and experience that I’ve gained in the last few months. Now I’m going to take the time to reflect on all of those things, and prepare for the next step that God leads me towards. I have been forever changed by this journey, and by all of you. From the deepest part of my heart, thank you. I can’t wait to see what my future holds.
Sincerely,

MEET EUGENE!
Eugene is a dedicated husband and father who’s been practicing law in Texas' state and federal courts
for nearly 30 years. He’s running to be elected District Judge of the 455th District Court in Travis County, Texas!
Eugene was nurtured in Hopewell community in the western part of Walker County, Texas. He would wake up early each day to perform his chores. When he was not doing farm and ranch work, he usually spent time exploring the great outdoors. Eugene is no stranger to hard work. He’s carried that same dedication and diligence into every area of his life. His experiences, education, community involvement, and deep commitment to the pursuit of justice have all prepared him for the privilege of being District Judge of the 455th Judicial Civil Court. Maintaining objectivity, discerning the facts, weighing all the relevant perspectives, interpreting and applying the law, and fairly dispensing justice is not easy. It’s precisely the kind of hard work that Eugene has been doing and preparing to do since his youth. Beyond that, Eugene is fully prepared to utilize this position as a public servant to help create a more efficient, financially accessible, equitable justice system.
When Eugene isn’t hard at work, you can usually find him listening to a nice jazz album, enjoying a plate of good food, watching a basketball game, showing off his carpentry and handyman skills, or preparing to go on a road trip with his family. Did I mention that he loved singing in his local church choir? He’s a man of many talents and interests, and he can’t wait for you to learn more about him!
